Learn How to Avoid Lines at Scarefest Scream Park

At peak times, waits for an attraction can get up to nearly 3 hours (generally Saturday's at 9pm). Follow these tips and tricks for reduced wait times at the haunted attractions.

1: VISIT IN SEPTEMBER

We are significantly less busy in September. The closer to Halloween it gets, the busier the park becomes. Avoid October crowds by coming in September. The weather also tends to be a lot better as well.

2: VISIT ON FRIDAY OR SUNDAY

Sundays are our least busy days and rarely ever have long wait times. Fridays tend to be less busy than Saturdays, but the closer to Halloween it gets, the longer the wait times will be.

3: ARRIVE AT PARK OPEN

Be sure to plan ahead and arrive early. On busy days we will often open the gates up to 30 minutes early. By 8:30pm attractions can have their longest wait times on our busiest nights.

4: BUY TICKETS ONLINE

On Fridays and Saturdays in October it is required to purchase tickets online because we sell out of tickets before the park opens. Outside of those days it is still a good idea to purchase online. The process is much faster at the ticket booth with online tickets. To purchase tickets online click HERE.

5: GO TO THE HAUNTED HOUSE FIRST

If you arrive at open and are planning to do multiple attractions, visit the Castle of the Dead haunted house first. The haunted house and the haunted maze are the first attractions to open every evening because it does not need to be completely dark to open. Most people get in line for the hayride first because it is at the front of the park, by going to the haunted house, you will avoid that initial rush.

6: WAIT IT OUT

If you are coming for ONLY ONE attraction, come to the park around 10:30pm. This strategy does not work if you plan to do multiple attractions, you will only have time for one by arriving this late. The crowds start to die down quite a bit after 10:30pm. Don’t panic when you see the wait time estimates at this time, they are often inflated and are actually less than they appear. If you are in line, you will be able to go through the attraction even if it is after our posted closing time. *Note: the hayride line closes at 11:45pm while the other attraction lines close at midnight.

7: BUY A SPEEDPASS UPGRADE

If you don’t want to wait in the regular line, you can purchase a speedpass upgrade from the ticket booth onsite for $10 on each single attraction ticket. VIP wristbands can also be purchased for $80 and includes unlimited skip the regular line admission for all open attractions.

If you decide to come to the park on a Friday or Saturday in October your ideal schedule should be as follows:

  • Arrive at Scarefest 30 minutes prior to park open (In October that is 6:30pm)

  • Redeem your online tickets at the ticket booth onsite

  • Get in the virtual queue and go to the Castle of the Dead haunted house

  • Once completed, get in the virtual line for the Hayride of Doom

  • After the hayride, get in the virtual line for either the Forest of Darkness or the Terror Zone Maze

  • Enjoy the other park amenities while you wait (concessions, bonfire, big screen movies, VR ride, etc.)
